Trylon Apartments discussion

the trylon apartments option looks really cheap, even if people wanted to room by themselves. here's the break down of discount pricing offered to podcamp attendees:

  • 65$ - STUDIO with 1 queen-size bed (MAX 2 persons / room)
  • 70$ - JUNIOR SUITE with 1 queen-size bed and 1 sofa bed (MAX 3 persons / room)
  • 85$ - PRIVATE ROOM with 2 queen-size beds and 1 sofa bed (MAX 4 persons / room) (and an exploding refridgerator)

so this definitely looks like a winner price wise (exccept for the fridge that might try to kill you in your sleep). (also has wi-fi.. woo!) so how many rooms would we need to reserve for our group? i have no problem sharing a bed with anyone. i know other people don't have that luxury, but even with a private room with four people, two people could share a bed and two people could sleep separately (one on the bed, one on the sofa bed) and that brings a $82 (USD) room to just over $20/night. thoughts from the podcamp crowd (or at least those needing housing)? please discuss below! thx. • I was looking at this option too. Most arrangements would work for me. I try to remain flexible – for many reasons. (sarah)
  • I can crash on a diagonal couch or floor no problem. -ChrisCavs

hotel/bed & breakfast discussion

  • my first question, is who doesn't mind sharing a bed? i honesty have no problem sharing with anyone. if my calculations are correct, and no one is opposed to sharing beds, we can rent out every one of these rooms (which is 4 rooms with 5 beds.. two bathrooms, free wi-fi, and free breakfast) for around $50/night per person. (and that's if i'm correct in assuming that we have 9 people going. and we would have room for one more.. *ahem*CHRISCAVS*cough cough*) if people don't want to share beds, we can always rent one (or more) apartment.. (it would bring the cost up just a bit for those people.. but at least two of the apartments have a bed and a couch… so someone could sleep on the couch)

anyone have thoughts on this? thanks (-tracy)

  • Just did some budgeting. I'm almost certain I can go. Also, don't forget that MissSomething (Nicole) is going too, but I think she & Dana have a place to stay already. -ChrisCavs
  • YAY!!! we're gettin' the band back together!. :-P and awesome about nicole as well.. yea. i didn't count dana in the 9.. since i know she's staying with a friend.. (or at least that's what i understood.. if i'm wrong.. then feel free to correct me :-) ) i'm also assuming that marc isn't going to need a place to stay since he lives there. :-) what i may do is contact this b&b and see first off if they would allow more than one person per room.. and if they would allow us to rent all of the rooms in the first place. :-) even if the b&b thing doesn't pan out.. there are a ton of other hotels right in that area which are also pretty cheap. -tapps
  • Well, since we're getting the band back together, we need those Boobapalooza shirts! -chriscavs
  • I don't mind sharing a bed, I'm just glad that someone else is kind of planning the accommodations. Just as long as I have someplace to put my bag, shower and sleep (on the floor if need be), then I'm set. -Melissa
